We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our newest location in Fresno South, California and introduce the team running the show – Harjot Kaur and Manvir Kaur Dhaliwal. In the lead up to their launch, the duo took a moment to share their story with us. Read on to get to know our newest Franchisees!
Tell us a little about your background, and what made you want to get into home care?
Harjot graduated from medical school in India and is in the process of becoming a licensed physician in the USA. Recently she has obtained a Master’s Degree in Health Informatics from the University of San Diego. Manvir graduated from Fresno State with a focus on Geriatrics Physical Therapy and has extensive experience working as a behavioral therapist.
They were both Caregivers for their paternal grandparents when they realized there was a gap between our community and home care. In this role we had the opportunity to make life better for them and bring #HappierAging in the way they deserve.
Why did you choose to start a Nurse Next Door franchise?
For us it was Nurse Next Door’s Happier Aging philosophy. This concept is not at the forefront of the home care industry here in Fresno and our goal is to bring #HappierAging to seniors in our area and reconnecting them with activities they love doing.
What need is there for Home Care in your community?
We identified that 12% of Fresno County’s population is 65 and older. There is high demand for quality home health care in our area, most seniors are not receiving the services they require to make their lives easier. The VA hospital and other hospitals in the area are saturated, and there is high demand for home health care in our area.
Last but not least, what does Happier Aging mean to you?
To us it means no limitations. We look forward to bringing #HappierAging to Fresno in as many ways as we can!
