Learn why Jason, Senior Franchise Development Manager, loves meeting motivated people in the home care franchising market.
In this installment of Franchising Heart-to-Heart, our Senior Franchise Development Manager, Jason Isley talks about how he helps potential Franchise Partners decide if Nurse Next Door is right for them.
What were you doing before NND?
I was at You Move Me and WOW 1 DAY PAINTING. Before that, Nurse Next Door. Before that, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?. Before that, Nurse Next Door. I kept leaving and finding my way back here. It feels special to be part of Nurse Next Door when the company first began franchising in 2006 and to be back here again with the company boasting over 130 franchises across North America.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
I get to engage with motivated people every day. It’s inspiring to meet individuals who are always trying to challenge themselves. I get fired up meeting passionate individuals who fit our core values – Admire People, WOW Customer Experience, Passionate About Making a Difference and Find a Better Way! People may come from different backgrounds, but they all share a common spirit of improvement and wanting to better their well-being by being part of a business that is dedicated to making lives better.
When you’re a purpose-driven person working with colleagues just like you, you’re inspired every day. People here genuinely have a passion for improving their community. It’s not “just a job”.
How do you help Franchise Partners after they join the team?
You’ll join us here at Nurse Next Door headquarters (aka ‘Heartquarters’), which is a week of step-by-step, structured training where you’ll learn how to build the foundation of your home care business and the core concepts we instill in all Franchise Partners. You’ll go home to start implementing what you learned after that, but we’ll set you up with a business coach who can provide weekly coaching calls, walk you through the setup process, and be available by a dial of a number. Nurse Next Door hosts an annual conference and regional meetings, so you’ll have many opportunities throughout the year to reconnect with us, meet other Franchise Partners, and trade best practices.
If you could use one word to describe the opportunity here, what would it be?
“Partnership.” We use this word a lot. You’re never on your own.
What do Home Care Franchise Partners love most about working with caregivers?
We hear all the time about the sense of fulfillment Franchise Partners get from seeing caregivers connect with clients. Some end up finding a second family in their team, or becoming an extension of a client’s family.
If you could offer one piece of advice about franchising, what would it be?
Building a home care Franchise from the ground up–no one said it would be easy. But in a franchise system, you don’t need to do it alone. There are proven systems in place, with guidance and coaching to make sure you’re on track. Let’s talk about it!
